Can Chemo Alter Your Fingerprint?

Apparently it can. I have several apps on my phone that use my fingerprint to open. Recently, all of them stopped recognizing me. My phone, who I spend all my time with thinks I'm a stranger. What an ingrate.

There have been many studies that show certain chemo agents can cause fingerprint loss. That can be a serious issue for people with jobs where there fingerprints are needed.

On a lighter note, bank robber John Dillinger and other criminals could have avoided self-mutilation of their fingers and instead just got cancer.
