Results After Surgery

My surgeon called with good news. The lab work shows there's no cancer left in my body. This is called "pathologic complete response” (pCR) and it's what everyone hopes for after chemo and surgery.

Having a pCR lowers my chance of recurrence. Women with triple negative breast cancer are 4 times more likely to experience a recurrence within 5 years of diagnosis compared with all other types of breast cancer. So I'm grateful that my odds got a whole lot better.

Also, I've been off steroids for five days and my cough has not returned.

Two good pieces of news for a Wednesday morning.
